Keeping your server up to date is essential for accessing the latest features, patches, and stability improvements. Follow the steps below to update your game server safely and efficiently.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Log in to your Imperium Hosting control panel.

  2. Navigate to "Game Services" under the "Service Management" section in the toolbar.

  3. Select your server and stop it if it’s currently running.

  4. Locate and click the "Steam Update" icon.

  5. A web console will open, displaying the progress of the update.

Important: Wait until the console clearly states: "This process has been completed."

  6. Once the update is complete, start your server — you’re now running the latest version!

Additional Notes

  • Update Button Variants:
Some servers may not use the "Steam Update" button and instead offer an "Update Server Files" button. This functions similarly and will install the latest version of your game server.

  • When Updates Fail:
In rare cases, the update process may fail. If this happens, refer to our article:

  • Protect Your Data:
Major game updates may overwrite or remove critical configuration files.
We highly recommend backing up your important files before running an update.
Consider using our integrated Google Drive backup system for peace of mind.

That’s it! Your server is now up to date and ready to go — powered by Imperium Hosting.
