Welcome to SCUM! Whether you're surviving the wilderness or squading up with friends, getting connected to your server is simple — once you know how the ports work.
Two Ways to Connect to Your Server
1. Connect via Server List (Recommended)
If you've named your server something unique, you can find it in the in-game Multiplayer server browser.
Tip: Make sure your server is running and completely booted up.
2. Connect via Direct Connect
You can also join directly using your Connection Info with a slight adjustment:
Important: SCUM requires a +2 port offset from the game port when Direct Connecting via Steam.
Example:

Your Control Panel Shows:
Connection Info: 123.45.67.89:7780 -
To Direct Connect:
Launch SCUM > Click Multiplayer > Direct Connect
Enter:123.45.67.89:7782(Game Port + 2)
Why the +2 Port?
SCUM uses the Steam Query Port, which is always +2 above the game port listed in your control panel. This is a game-side requirement and is normal behavior for SCUM servers.
Troubleshooting Tips

Double-check that your server is running in your control panel.

If you’re not seeing your server in the list, try restarting the server or refreshing the list.

Use a unique server name so it’s easy to find among the public listings.

Ensure port 27015 (Steam query) is not blocked by your local firewall if hosting locally.
