How to Manually Install Mods on Your PixARK Server Print

  • 0

Modding your PixARK server is a great way to enhance gameplay with new content. This tutorial will walk you through manual mod installation using the Steam Workshop and your server's file system.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Subscribe to Mods via Steam

  • Open Steam, navigate to the PixARK Workshop.

  • Find a mod you'd like to install and click Subscribe.

  • Look at the mod’s URL and copy the mod ID (the number at the end of the URL).
    Example: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=123456789123456789

Tip: If you don’t see the URL, enable it via Steam > Settings > Interface > "Display Steam URL address bar."

2. Launch PixARK to Unpack Mods

  • After subscribing to all desired mods, launch PixARK on your PC.

  • Wait at the main menu — you’ll see a mod installation message in the bottom-right corner.

  • Keep PixARK open until the mods finish unpacking.

3. Locate Your Local Mods Folder

On your computer, go to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PixARK\ShooterGame\Content\Mods

You’ll see folders and .mod files for each mod you’ve installed.

4. Upload Mods to Your Server

  • Connect to your server using an FTP client (we recommend FileZilla or WinSCP).

  • Navigate to the following server directory:

    ShooterGame/Content/Mods
  • If the Mods folder doesn’t exist, create it.

  • For each mod you want to install:

    • Upload both the mod folder and the matching .mod file to the server’s Mods directory.

What’s Next?

Once uploaded, you may need to reference the mod IDs in your server’s Command Line or GameUserSettings.ini to activate them.
