How to Install a Resource Pack on Your Minecraft Bedrock Server

Resource packs allow you to customize your Minecraft Bedrock experience by changing textures, fonts, sounds, models, menus, and more. When properly installed on your Imperium Hosting server, these customizations are automatically applied to players when they join.

Note: These steps require a PC running Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition (Bedrock). This guide is not compatible with mobile, console, or tablet versions.

Step 1: Prepare Your Resource Pack

1. Download your desired .mcpack file from a site like:

   • Resource Pack

2. Double-click the .mcpack file to automatically import it into Minecraft Bedrock.

Step 2: Create a New World with the Resource Pack

1. Launch Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition

2. Click Play → Create New → Create New World

3. Name your world anything you'd like

4. Click the Resource Packs tab

5. Under Owned, click Activate next to your desired pack

6. Click Create to generate the world

7. Once the world loads, click Save & Quit

Step 3: Locate the World Files on Your PC

1. Press WIN + R to open the Run dialog

2. Paste the following path and press Enter:

   %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\games\com.mojang\minecraftWorlds
   

3. This opens your local Bedrock world saves folder

4. Find the world folder you just created:

   • Folders have random names — sort by Date Modified to find the newest one

   • Open each folder and check levelname.txt to confirm the world name

Step 4: Upload Resource Pack Data to Your Server

1. Log into your Imperium Hosting TCAdmin Control Panel

2. Navigate to your Minecraft Bedrock server

3. Go to the File Manager tab

4. Open the worlds folder

5. Open your active world folder (usually named Bedrock level unless renamed)

6. From your PC’s world folder, upload the following files/folders:

   • resource_packs/ (folder)

   • world_resource_packs.json

   • world_resource_pack_history.json

7. When prompted, confirm to Override or Delete existing files if needed

Step 5: Upload the Actual Resource Pack File

1. On your server, return to the root directory

2. Open the resource_packs folder

3. On your PC, go to:

   %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\games\com.mojang\resource_packs
   

4. Upload the full folder of your resource pack into the server’s resource_packs directory

Step 6: Start Your Server

1. Return to the Service Overview tab

2. Click Start or Restart to boot up your server

Done! What Happens Now?

When a player joins your server:

• If they don’t have the resource pack installed, Minecraft will prompt them to download and use it automatically

• If they already have it installed, they’ll seamlessly switch to it

Troubleshooting

• Double-check the folder names and structure — they must match what Minecraft expects

• Ensure the uploaded files are not zipped

• If players don't get the resource pack prompt, make sure the files are uploaded to both:

  • The world folder

  • The global resource_packs folder
