Welcome to your Imperium Hosting server for The Forest! This guide walks you through configuring your dedicated server settings step-by-step through your control panel.

Step 1: Edit the Configuration File

  1. Go to the main page of your service.

  2. Click on Configuration Files.

  3. Select Text Editor next to Server.cfg.

This is where you’ll configure all server settings.

Example Configuration Settings

Below are the most important server options and what they do. Be sure not to modify port settings unless instructed by support.

// === Connection Settings === serverIP 185.245.80.66 serverSteamPort 53005 serverGamePort 53001 serverQueryPort 53002 // === Basic Server Settings === serverName Imperium Forest Server serverPlayers 8 enableVAC on serverPassword yourpasswordhere serverPasswordAdmin adminpasswordhere serverSteamAccount yoursteamloginname // === Save & Difficulty === serverAutoSaveInterval 30 difficulty Normal initType New slot 1 // === Admin & Logging === showLogs on serverContact support@imperiumhosting.com // === Gameplay Modifiers === veganMode off vegetarianMode off resetHolesMode off treeRegrowMode on allowBuildingDestruction on allowEnemiesCreativeMode off

Notes & Tips

  • Ports: Never modify serverIP, serverSteamPort, serverGamePort, or serverQueryPort. These are system-assigned and critical for proper operation.

  • VAC: Keep enableVAC set to on to prevent cheaters.

  • Tree Regrowth: Enabling treeRegrowMode allows 10% of trees to regenerate after sleeping, creating a more dynamic survival experience.

  • Difficulty: You can change between Peaceful, Normal, and Hard.

  • Creative Mode: If you're using creative mode but want enemies enabled, set allowEnemiesCreativeMode to on.

Once You’ve Made Your Changes:

  1. Click Save and Exit in the editor.

  2. Return to your control panel and start your server.

If you run into any issues or have questions about customization, don’t hesitate to reach out to Imperium Hosting Support.

Happy surviving!
