Minecraft "Mounts of Mayhem" Update

This Holiday season, Minecraft players can prepare for chaos on horseback and beneath the waves. Mojang’s upcoming Mounts of Mayhem update is the fourth major content drop of 2025, and it’s packed with new mobs, weapons, and mechanics that expand how players explore, fight, and customize their worlds

Whats New in Mounts of Mayhem?

Mounts of Mayhem introduces a suite of features designed to enhance mobility, combat, and underwater gameplay:

• Rideable Nautilus

A brand-new underwater mount that can be tamed using pufferfish. Players can now explore ocean biomes with speed and style, diving deeper into aquatic adventures.

• Zombie Horse Returns

The long-awaited Zombie Horse is finally rideable, adding a spooky twist to Overworld travel. It’s fast, durable, and perfect for nighttime raids.

• Spear Weapon

Minecraft’s first tiered weapon in years, the Spear offers two attack modes: a quick jab and a powerful charge. Damage scales with movement speed, making it ideal for mounted combat.

• Nautilus Armor Sets

New armor variants—Copper, Iron, Gold, Diamond, and Netherite—can be found in underwater chests and equipped for both style and protection.

• Expanded Mount Mechanics

Mounts now feature improved handling, speed scaling, and combat integration, allowing players to fight while riding and customize their travel experience.

Mounts of Mayhem is part of Mojang’s new Game Drop model—smaller, more frequent updates released throughout the year. This format allows for focused content expansions without waiting for full annual releases.

The update is confirmed for Holiday 2025, following the Copper Age update in late September. It will be available for both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition, ensuring cross-platform access for all players.
