7 Days 2 Die – V2.3 b9 Experimental Update (September 6, 2025)

Hey Survivors! Good news - you can now jump into V2.3 b9 Experimental, fresh off the press as of September 6, 2025. If everything goes smoothly, this build is slated to become the release candidate for the next Stable version, which could drop as early as later this week7daystodiemods / patchbot

Here’s a breakdown of what’s new, what’s improved, and what’s fixed since b8:

What’s New

 - A new terrain asset: Rubble_wasteland_filler_10. Expect more variety and clutter in wasteland zones.

Improvements & Changes

 - Storms no longer affect 4×4 vehicles, so you’ll have smoother rides - even in the middle of a storm.

 - Storm settings have been adjusted: default storm frequency is now 0, and thunder strikes less often, making storms less overwhelming.

Under the hood, optimization tweaks include:

 - A more efficient Chunk SetBlock check for DeviceFlags.

 - SpawnGroup memory usage has been reduced.

 - Autorun now only kicks in if you tap run briefly (<0.2 seconds) - so no more accidental sprinting.

 - Visual polish: canned food labels now face the player, making looting a bit friendlier.

 - Localization has been updated to reflect the 2.3 changes accurately.

 - For POIs (Points of Interest), "sleeper volumes" use a random seed, which should make explorations feel a little less predictable.

Fixes

 - The Trader UI header icons have been rearranged to avoid overlapping - much cleaner now.

 - A bug where thunder sounds leaked memory or objects when played repeatedly has been squashed.

Why It Matters

This build is all about polish and quality-of-life - from smoother vehicle handling in storms to fixing visual hiccups and giving the engine better efficiency. If you're playing Experimentals, this is the update to jump in on before it goes Stable.
