Happy Trucking, and welcome back to another blog piece for ETS2!
Today we’re taking a look at one of the most exciting quality‑of‑life additions coming in the 1.59 Update — the brand‑new Tow to Road feature.
This update introduces a simple but incredibly useful tool designed to help players recover quickly from awkward situations without breaking immersion or disrupting multiplayer convoys.
What Is Tow to Road?
Tow to Road is a new recovery option created to reduce frustration during gameplay. If your truck:
• overturns
• gets stuck in a ditch
• becomes trapped on uneven terrain
• or simply refuses to move
…you can now recover without being forced all the way back to a service station.
This is especially helpful in multiplayer, where a single stuck truck can delay an entire convoy. Tow to Road keeps the flow going and gets you back into the action quickly.
How It Works
When you find yourself in trouble, open the Service Menu (default key: F7) and look for the new Tow to Road button.
Here’s what happens:
• You pay a small towing fee
• Your truck is moved to your last safe position on the road
• You continue your journey without a full reset
A couple of important notes:
• If you disconnect your trailer, only the truck will be moved
• If you travel too far from your last safe road position, the feature may become unavailable to prevent misuse
Tow to Road vs Tow to Service
Don’t worry — the classic Tow to Service option isn’t going anywhere. It simply has a more focused purpose now:
Tow to Road
• For minor issues
• Quick recovery
• No major damage
• Keeps convoys moving
Tow to Service
• For heavy damage
• When repairs are required
• When the truck can’t be driven safely
Both features now work together to give players more control over how they recover from accidents or mistakes.
Final Thoughts
Next time you find yourself in a tricky situation, you’ll have a faster, smoother way to get back on the road thanks to the new Tow to Road feature in Update 1.59. It’s a small addition with a big impact on gameplay flow — especially for convoy drivers.
Happy trucking, and we’ll see you on the road!
